Automation for logistics & supply chain

Logistics automation: status updates that send themselves, documents that process themselves.

"Where's my shipment?" shouldn't be a phone call. Ops teams burn hours updating customers by hand, re-keying BOLs and PODs, and firefighting exceptions they found out about too late. Every one of those is an automatable workflow.

Your ops team is a human middleware layer.

The TMS knows where the shipment is. The customer doesn’t, until someone copies the status into an email. The POD arrived as a photo of a crumpled page; someone types it into the system. An exception happened at 6am; the customer told you before your own tools did.

MorningScale connects the systems and automates the messages: proactive status updates, document extraction for BOLs, PODs, and invoices, and exception alerts that reach your team before the customer calls. Built with fault handling, because logistics data arrives late, partial, and messy, and the automation has to survive that.

The pain, in plain terms

What's actually costing you time and revenue.

  • Customers calling for status your TMS already knows
  • BOLs, PODs, and invoices re-keyed by hand
  • Exceptions discovered by the customer first
  • TMS, ERP, and CRM each telling a different story
  • Billing delayed by missing or unmatched documents
Use cases

The workflows we automate.

Proactive status updates

Milestone-triggered notifications to customers, email, SMS, or portal, straight from your TMS data.

BOL / POD extraction

Documents captured, extracted, validated, and matched to shipments automatically.

Exception alerting

Delays, missed scans, and failed syncs surfaced to your team the moment they happen.

TMS ↔ ERP ↔ CRM sync

One version of the truth across systems, with reconciliation checks.

Invoice matching

Carrier invoices matched against quotes and PODs, mismatches flagged for review.

What we build

How MorningScale helps: built and tested like a product.

Notification automation

Customers informed automatically, your team answers exceptions, not status calls.

Document processing pipelines

OCR and AI extraction with confidence thresholds and human review for the messy scans.

System integrations

TMS, ERP, and CRM connected with retries, idempotency, and alerting, no silent drops.

Ops dashboards

Exceptions, aging documents, and SLA risk visible in one place.

  • Status calls replaced by proactive updates
  • Document handling hours cut to minutes
  • Exceptions caught by your team, not your customer
  • Billing cycles shortened by matched documents

Questions worth asking.

Our TMS is old and has no real API. Can you still automate?

Usually yes, via exports, EDI, email parsing, or database access. Legacy systems are normal in logistics; the automation is designed around what the system can actually do, then tested against its quirks.

How accurate is extraction on messy PODs?

Good, and honest. High-confidence documents flow straight through; low-confidence ones route to a human for review instead of being silently guessed. That review loop is what makes it production-safe.

Where do teams usually start?

Proactive status updates. It’s the highest-volume manual task, customers feel the difference immediately, and it proves the integration layer everything else builds on.
